Patrick is a multi-award winning cinematographer based in Belfast & Dublin, with a portfolio that spans across recognised brands, production companies, and advertising agencies in Film, TV commercials, TV series, & Documentary.
At the heart of every film is a story, a story that moves, challenges, and connects. As a cinematographer, my mission is to visually elevate that story, not just through lighting or composition, but by understanding the deeper layers of the narrative and characters that drive it. I approach each project with the belief that every frame should serve the emotional truth of the story.
My work is about more than just creating beautiful imagery, it's about capturing moments of authenticity. Each character, every line of dialogue, and all the silences in between, they all shape the way I approach a scene. The goal is to immerse the audience in the world of the story, making them feel what the characters feel, live what they live, and see through their eyes.
I draw inspiration from filmmakers who dare to push boundaries and tell stories that feel raw and visceral. Whether I’m working on a documentary or a narrative film, I seek to bring out the heart of each story, creating visuals that leave a lasting impression and connect with the audience on a deep, emotional level.
I have an in-depth technical understanding of lighting and how to use light creatively to enhance the narrative, create depth, and invoke a specific emotional response from the audience. I am passionate about collaborating with directors, helping to transform their visions into impactful visuals
In addition to my extensive experience across various formats, I have contributed my expertise as a camera operator on high profile productions for Netflix, AMC+, BBC, ESPN, etc, specialising in capturing unique and challenging shots with specialised camera equipment.
I carry an Arri Alexa Mini camera package with a set of DZOFILM Vespid Prime Lenses among other kit. I also have a 1 ton lighting van which carries enough lighting & grip equipment for most small to medium sized productions.
